Why do films resonate with audiences? People frequently tell me about films that made an impact on them. Sometimes it’s the first film they ever saw. Sometimes it’s a film that reminds them of a transformational moment in their lives. Sometimes it’s a film that reflects something in their own lives which they’re unhappy with and they ask me how I would I would re-work it on screen.
This insightful TED Talk by film director Beeban Kidron explores why cinema is arguably the 20th century’s most influential artform and how – as children watched films – their lives got palpably richer!
I’d love to hear which films have made an impact on you and why. Please share your thoughts in the comments section below.
